Assam Agricultural University (AAU) is inviting applications from eligible candidates for the position of Project Assistant-I under the project titled "Evaluation of Land Suitability for Summer Rice in Lower Brahmaputra Valley Zone of Assam using GIS and Remote Sensing" under the Directorate of Research (Agriculture).

Established in 1969, Assam Agricultural University is the first agricultural institution in Northeast India. With its headquarters in Jorhat, AAU continues to support farmers, agripreneurs, and the agricultural industry through education, research, and innovation.

The selection will be based on a Walk-in Interview scheduled as follows:

Eligibility

1. Essential Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geology, Geoinformatics, Agriculture, Mathematics, or a related field.
Certificate/Diploma in GIS & Remote Sensing or Geoinformatics.

2. Desirable Qualification:

Proficiency in Remote Sensing and GIS software like IGIS, ArcGIS, QGIS, ERDAS Imagine, and ENVI.
Knowledge of geospatial analysis, image processing, GPS-based data collection, and geospatial database development.

3. Experience:

Preference will be given to candidates with at least 1 year of proven experience in vegetation phenology, land use and land cover change analysis, and database management.

🎂 Age Limit:

Maximum age: 35 years
Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.
